Wow what a Ryder Cup so far! The Europeans are playing so impressively and especially so given the behaviour of some of the crowd.
I did bet on Europe at the start of this as there were good odds on them and I don’t feel America pull together as a team as we do. As a nation actually as well. But that’s another matter.
I was very disappointed in the US captain, Keegan Bradley, not decrying some of the unacceptable behaviour of some of the crowd. That is poor. Whereas Luke Donald called it out as it should have been. This personifies the difference between America and Europe at the moment. Looking at the hard facts and being honest about them.
What a humbling lesson for the United States of America and I hope their so called President takes note. Because here is a real man talking. Well done Luke. And if Europe win then it will be a celebration for me of truth and righteousness and principle and valour. And I hope Donald Trump takes note. It is so apposite at the moment that his American team gets demolished.
I am loving my golf at the moment and hitting the ball better than ever. I have rekindled my love for this wonderful game and want to really apply myself to it for a bit. It’s very rewarding and satisfying and fun.
It all does go hand in hand with my new sober life though. I am much more focussed on things, healthier, stronger. I will now unwind by going for a sea swim rather than a pint in the Brewing Company and that’s good for everyone. Well apart from the Brewing Company.
So bring it on.
But oh the world! The genocide in Gaza. The poor hostages. The Ukraine war. The parlous state of America. It’s all rather obvious that Trump has something very big to hide (I will use one of his adjectives here) and he is doing all he can to prevent the release of the Epstein files. And it looks like, given his present polling, that he will pull another Jan 6 and try something underhand to prevent free and fair elections. It’s daunting but that’s as plain to see as his desire for a golf course in Gaza be stronger than helping starving children and freeing hostages. It’s despicable beyond belief.
Fare forward and do what is right and proper folks. We are in a precarious position.
